XFCE4 Wallpaper Blank
Hello,
I've recently installed a gentoo system with xorg+xfce4 and a Geforce mx 440 card.
I'm having an issue in xfce4 where my user is unable to set the desktop wallpaper to an image. It doesn't matter where the image is located, the image's format, or what image is attempted. None of them work.
The wallpaper on my desktop simply remains set to the solid color defined in the settings.
I'm able to see all my desktop icons, as well as right click & get the XFCE4 menu, which tells me that xfdesktop is running.
I've manually attempted editing the ~/.config file for backdrops (which contains the proper line), yet this does not work either.
I DID copy my old .config folder from a previous slackware installation, which I believe may be causing the problem, but I have yet to try removing the folder & settings the desktop with the default configuration. When I get home, I will try this, as well as whether I can set wallpaper from root.
Also, when I run conky, all my icons disappear & xfdesktop stops working until reloaded.
I've tried several IRC rooms on the issue & have yet to receive a response.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
