xfce4-sensors-plugin not showing usage

Hi all, me again...

for a while now the xfce4-sensors-plugin has not been registering any usage. I'd provide a pic but suffice to say the graph is at zero when doing a heavy task like converting a video file. cpu mem and swap all register zero, infact.

lm_sensors is installed so I guess it should be working. I have had this problem on Slackware 14.1 (where it used to run just fine on 14.0) and Arch linux (fully updated). Can anyone help me to get the graph to work?

PS: I have tried the cpugraph as well and although it works, there are several fields in the graph and only the one on the far right is being used. the others are also registering at zero.

Thanks.

Could it be a permissions issue? Or maybe sensors need to added to the plugin. I found an interesting post that may be related to your problem here (https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=8903)

I installed this thing.
What I noticed on my Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca / Xfce 4.11.8 host is
the xfce panel is defaulted to 32pixels. Way to small to 'stack' more than
temp1:
temp2:
so I had to 'create' by adding another sensors item for hddtemp also:
