xfce4 problem on ubuntu 14.04
Hello friends,
I am using xubuntu 14.04. My problem is my display signal is lost when I unplug and plug hdmi cable back to my pc. This problem is with xfce4. If I start xterm or xbmc directly using xinit then I do not experience this behavior. I have never faced such a problem with Ubuntu 12.04 and xfce4. what can be the problem with xfce4 on ubuntu 14.04 ? Please help My hardware - Corei3 3120M, 2GB ram, 16GB msata |
Did you install it as Xubuntu, Ubuntu+Xubuntu-desktop, or Ubuntu+Xfce4? They all will run, but the details of how they treat xorg differ. I've never been entirely happy with only Ubuntu+Xfce4, but if I add apt-get install xfce4-goodies it seems to go smoothly.
Edited to add: this is all on 14.04 |
I also use U 12,04 and am looking at a Xfce4 . so thanks albinard for the ideas to load differently.

No problem under Debian Stable (Wheezy), with XFCE 10, NVIDIA card Tried: - switching Nouveau driver for latest NVidia driver (from repo) - switched lots of settings. Sorry, not really structured one by one, but just playing around. - screen saver settings - power management settings No difference... |
