xfce4-power-manager does not detect battery

1 Attachment(s)
I just noticed today that in my Fedora 18 installation, xfce4-power-manager does show battery at all as the attached screenshot shows. It is only power-manager that does not seem to detect the battery.

ACPI shows correct battery state as follows

Code:

# acpi -b
Battery 0: Charging, 100%, charging at zero rate - will never fully charge.

and when the adapter is unplugged,
Code:

# acpi -b
Battery 0: Discharging, 100%, 01:57:53 remaining

Also,

Code:

#  dmesg | grep -i battery
[    0.770480] ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT0] (battery present)

Given all this, how can I get power-manager to recognize and work with the battery that is present and working? Thanks a lot!

Hi:

I had to open my XFCE Power Manager to make sure.

Under 'General' I noticed that you have "Always Show Icon" selected-
Instead open your XFCE Power Manager under 'General and select "When Battery is Present"

That should do it. It works for me and I'm running Fedora 17 and we have the same XFCE Manager-
