XFCE Taskbar buttons with overlapping text and amarok using 100% CPU
 

hi all!

I am trying out XFCE out of curiosity as a GUI... I am pretty impressed with its balance between aesthetic appeal and it being lean on resources... I have noticed considerable performance boost compared to KDE...

there are a few glitches i have encountered so far tho... one annoying one is the task bar... the buttons representing the windows opened are ok... but their titles which are taken from the window title bar... eg for this window it is 'LinuxQuestions - Post New Thread - Mozilla Firefox' is fully printed/echoed on the taskbar even on top of the next button which in this case is Kwrite... same goes for XMMS with song title printed over the Konqueror button... it looks pretty nasty... is there a way to fix this?

the other major problem is with amarok.. when i run it my CPU usage shoots up to 100% and the system becomes sluggish... i've tried disabling all the fancy bells and whistles but still doesnt work... i prefer amarok to XMMS and would be sad to stop using it...

i am using xfce 4.2.2-3 from the Mandriva Contrib reposirties...

any suggestions are most welcome...
