XFCE: set default applications to extensions

Is it possible to set default applications to certain extensions so the right program opens the right file in XFCE4? Right now I'm using XFE as file manager, when I want to open an mp3 I have to tell XFE to open it with XMMS. When I click on an mp3 in Firefox, I have to tell Firefox to open it with xmms, etc. Is it possible to set this somewhere so that every program just knows what program to open a certain filetype with?

Right click on the file type you wish to change

"open-with other application"

Select the application you want and click set default.

That is really lame. It would be nice if there were a difrent way where all the default applications could be viewed/set. Does such an app exist?

That is lame. You could try:

Quote:
gconf-editor
and/or
gnome-default-applications-properties
Solution from Mandriva Forums

I could not find gnome-default-applications-properties so I did not try it and gconf-editor seems similar to xfce4-settings-editor but I can not find where the default applications are set
