XFCE: editing the start menu

Where is the start menu editor in XFCE? Or, what's it called? I haven't found it yet.

I don't have my machine in front of me to check but I think it might be Alacarte -- though I thing XFCE follows (CDE?)* Some standard so others may work.

If I'm wrong then reply and if nobody else replies I'll fire my system up and let you. Know what I use.

*I know, I've been using XFCE for a few years so ought to know.

All I know is right-click on the Menu Mouse and choose properties - gives you some choices, anyway!

Does this help: https://wiki.xfce.org/howto/customize-menu

I don't know how sophisticated you want to get with the editing, but I add applications to the "All" menu like this:

(1) Create a desktop launcher for your application the normal way - right click on a blank area of the desktop, then select "Create Launcher", and fill in the details.

(2) Copy or move the new launcher from your $HOME/Desktop directory to the /usr/share/applications directory. The file for your launcher will be what you named it, plus a ".desktop" extension.

This is very basic "editing", if you'd even call it that. But if this happens to be what you are wanting to do, this is a way to accomplish it.

This is good. I used that very link a couple days ago to add an Openbox logout to xfce4-panel. No extra applications installed or needed!
