xfce applications

hi

i just installed xfce
bit when i launch some applications i can see with a ps -e command that kdeinit is still launched...
example : kcalc ,ark,k3b
it seems this application requires kdeinit to run...
are there some equivalent application that can run without a kdeinit layer ?
(scientific calculator, compress archive manager ,cd writer )
why they need kdeinit....?
is possible to configure them to run without kdeinit layer ?
thanks in advance
Maurizio

They need the KDE libraries (including qt) to run, so I am assuming that would require kdeinit.

XFCE4 is gnome and GTK-oriented. If you don't want to load extra libraries, run GTK apps. Note that the same goes in the other direction...
