XF86Config / xorg.conf

I have my Suse linux box hooked up to my tv, and everything is peachy until X11 starts up.
What I mean by that is I can see everything on the screen while its booting, even the GUI grub interface. Then it will load the X11 and my screen goes out of range.

But if i do a ctrl-alt-shift-6 I can get into the console and the screen comes back up.

I think what is going on is, that X will not run my video card (ATI 7000) at 640x480@60hz.

Does anyone know I way I can force it to do that?

Edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf so your highest resolution is 640x480. I'm not sure if you can config frequency setiing in xorg.conf, but I think there must be a manpage around there somewhere..... probably man xorg.conf (on my windows box now, so I can't check).
