XF 4.3.99-2 & 2.4.23 Radeon 8500 Slow 2D DRI Enabled & Working
 

Hello all !

I've Radeon 8500 64 MB card and have quite annoying problem - DRI is working properly, but resizing or moving a window (I'm using IceWM, tried Gnome, KDE - same results) or scrolling quickly a webpage in mozilla causes quite high (45-70%) cpu impact (Athlon XP 1700+ & 512 MB DDR 266), I tried fglrx drivers, but nothing changed and I'm now using 'radeon' module, glxgears gave me 1800 fps with almost no cpu usage at all.Please, help me...:(

try the ati drivers again, theyre way better then dri. did you insert the fglrx module manually? that worked for me...

Hi, tried both fglrx and dri drivers (r200, radeon and even latest DRI trunk from cvs), now I'm downloading latest XFree CVS.Let's hope it solve the problem...
