XDMCP Problems

I am trying to get XDMCP going on two desktops so that I can remote to them using my Windows XP/Vista PCs, I have one linux box that is Ubuntu 7.04 and one that is Fedora Core 7. I am able to see the Ubuntu computer from Windows XP, I can get to the login using XDMCP but after I login i just get a plain yellow screen with nothing on it. So I am not sure what is wrong there, in my fedora box I don't even get a log in screen.
I have set up XDMCP in fedora I believe, I enabled remote desktop and I ran gdmsetup and allowed remote access. So not sure what is wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am still having no luck on this issue, I gave up on the ubuntu machine right now and I am focusing on the Fedora Core one, do I need to enable any ports on my router?
