XDMCP logout hangs while using Gnome

I log in to remote linux machine running centos 5 (4.92).
There's no problem for me to log in and log out using
KDE desktop. But if I choose GNOME desktop, I cannot
log out properly then. I can still open terminal but
the system just does not want to return to the log in
screen where I can log in again. I've googled this problem
but did not find any suggestion. I turned on port 16001 according
to this link:
http://connectivity.hummingbird.com/...xc1003376.html

Hopefully, somebody here can give me some hint.
Thanks.

When you start your client's X server (with -query for example), you have to possibility to tell wether you want a single login or infinite; this is the "-once" option. Did you use it?

Yves.

How to do it? I have both Xwin32 and Xming.
I indeed used query in xwin32 but did not
do this in command line. so I don't know
how to specify the -once option in either
of these two clients.

Thanks.

If you saw -query, but did not see -once, then you don't use it. Besides, I assumed it was a standard X parameter, as -query is, but it might instead be cygwin-specific...

Anyway, in this situation, I have no idea what the problem could be :( Good luck...

Yves.
