I am having problems getting xcompmgr to work. I know that its not perfect, but I'm sure it should be working better than this.

First, this is on an Athlon XP 2800 system with 512MB ram, xorg 6.8.2, geforce2, and i am using windowmaker.

When I run xcompmgr with different options, usually about the same thing happens. Sometimes everything but my background disappears, but usually all windows show up as just shadows without the actual window showing up. The same for dockapps. I have read many howto's on this, and can't find anything that I am doing wrong.

I also get an error after I kill xcompmgr:

All the numbers are always the same, except for the ones after "serial"
