Just installed Mandrake 8.2 download edition as a dual-boot w/W2k for someone and they're reporting that xcd-roast sees source cds as blank cd-rws.It doesnt matter what kind of cd they try to copy,it says it's a blank cd-rw.
I searched here, there and everywhere for a clue but keep coming with nothing
The program is setup ok I think. It sees the burner(LiteOn 32x12x40)
The burner's entry in /etc/fstab seems right(will post it if asked-I'm on my own comp right now
Update:
I installed the latest xcdroast rpms for Mandrake 8.2 and it's working now.Could of been a number of things:
1.An error in .xresources.errors warned the SUID bits werent set for cdrecord,cdda2wav and mkisofs.
2.cdrecord version(1.11a15) that came with 8.2 might not have supported the burner though it showed up in #cdrecord -scanbus.I upgraded to ver 1.11a21
There are a bunch of distro-specific rpms for xcdroast at
Sourceforge .A lot of things were fixed with alpha10.
