xbindkeys: How to get name of clicked program

I'm using to set up my MX510 8 button mouse. The shell script wants the name of the program which is being double-clicked. How do I get that?

In general: How do you get the name of the file/program which was just clicked? Do you have to write a JAVA-program to get it?
