plug the audio cable in. turn the volume up on the mixer.

Could someone explain to me the difference between /dev/dsp and /dev/audio, the ALSA driver vs OSS, and where are the main config files, and are there any good documentation sites, that I can read up on this stuff.

I still can't get sound to work with xawtv.

Note: I can get kscd, ogle, xmms, etc to work just fine.

Any ideas? Do I need to modify .xawtv or /etc/modules.conf?

I'm using a Hauppauge WinTV card.
