xawtv - debian problems - no sound

hi all,

when i run xawtv on my debian potato, the picture's fine, but there's no sound (even if the volume is at 100%), and i can't change the channel. i think the sound is installed properly, however, since i can play ".wav"s in the xmms player.

xawtv works fine, however, in my redhat 7.2.

i use a pinnacle pctv card, and a c-media sound card (cmpci module). i got the xawtv through apt-get, and there weren't any error messages in the install.

below is what's shown in the xterm. any help would be appreciated. thanks! :)

Don't know about the channel changing problem, but check the level of the LINE IN in your mixer software. Most bbtv cards have a connector between the tv and sound cards line out/in sockets and pass sound that way.

the line out from the tv card is connected to the line in of the sound card, and the line in level (as well as volume, etc) is set to the max (using aumix), but still no sound.

thanks for the reply, though.

anyone else experience this problem?
