XawTV crashes, IVTV loaded correctly

The PCLinuxOS forum went down just shortly after I was making some headway in getting my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 350 card to work. First, the firmware wasn't setup correctly but I got that taken care of. Now XawTV crashes during setup while scanning for available channels. The dmesg output for IVTV is:

ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
ivtv: version 0.6.1 (tagged release) loading
ivtv: Linux version: 586 REGPARM gcc-3.3
ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between
ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with
ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.

This might be helpful as well. When trying to run TVTime, I get the following message:

Running tvtime 1.0.2.

I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/home/cylon/.tvtime/tvtime.xml"
