x86 emulator to run BSD Guest OS ON Linux Host OS

Hi,
I want to check out BSD and hence wanted to get my hands on an x86 emulator to run BSD on my Debian Sid install.
I tried Bochs but couldnt really get it to work. I am not even sure if it is the right thing for this job.
Could someone give me some pointers on what emulators I should try/use for this.
The three emulators I have heard about are qemu, bochs and plex86(there is vmware of-course but I want an open-source emulator).
Thanks

Another way, perhaps...

You might want to simply download the Freesbie live-cd and play with that. Bochs is pretty much the most mature emulator out there.

Thanks for the reply.
I have been trying out bochs. I downloaded the openbsd image but I get a Panic error in the display_library i specify.
I will try out freesbie...didnt know about it...:) though I would still love to be able to run OpenBSD.

I was going to suggest that you ask on the Bochs forum as well, but you already have. :D
