Question x11vnc Error

Hello,

I am trying to compile the software x11vnc so I can get my icon on my menu list but I was trying to execute the following command:

x11vnc -ncache 10 ...

And I get the following error:

17/12/2009 19:19:19 renamed: -old_pointer, use -pointer_mode 1
X Error of failed request: BadShmSeg (invalid shared segment parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 146 (MIT-SHM)
Minor opcode of failed request: 2 (X_ShmDetach)
Segment id in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 35
Current serial number in output stream: 39

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Cheers + thanks!!

I'm going to take a longshot. Do you have a ~/.x11vncrc file? If so, if you move it aside (e.g. mv ~/.x11vncrc ~/.x11vncrc.tmp) does it work properly then?

If not, add "-o /tmp/x11vnc.txt" to the x11vnc cmdline, reproduce the failure, and then attach /tmp/x11vnc.txt to this thread (no pasting into the post please.)

Ack, don't leave us hanging. What was the dependency that you resolved?
