X11/motif with fc9_x86_64 (NOT)

My old X11/motif GUI code ran fine with fc7 (32 bit) with openmotif, &
it compiles fine under fc9_x86_64 with lesstif, but I get the following error as soon as it tries to execute the first X11/motif statements.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
[ezrider GP_home]$ fdtd_vc_GP
Warning: XmManager ClassInitialize: XmeTraitSet failed

Error: attempt to add non-widget child "DropSiteManager" to parent "fdtd_vc_GP" which supports only widgets
[ezrider GP_home]$
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

At work, I run RHEL x86_64 with OpenMotif & the same X11/motif GUI code runs just fine there.

There must be some way to get X11/motif code to run under fc9, but I'm not sure. I sure could use some help...

lesstif's libXm.so was made incompatible with the real Motif libXm.so. lesstif is a poor man's Motif, but motif is open now?

if you install lesstif it will overwite Motif's libs unfortunately

you can run both if you (ie, renmae .so libname right, or use LD_LIBRARY_PATH)

anything compiled against lesstiff can only work with lesstif, likewise, compile for Motif it will not run under lesstif

i suggest using Motif, of course

see responses to other articles about motif-2.5.0 motif-3.2.4

I just looked at like 5 last posts by debguy and all of them are in threads dead since 2008/2009. Coincidence?

Many more than 5. At least his last 8 are posts to threads dated between 2010 and 2004(!)
