X11 Context menu offset, using LXDE Lubuntu

I have an odd habit of opening context menus and closing them. Sometimes this happens when I don't do my habit, but is there a way to add an offset to the context menu of every shortcut menu where the mouse isn't a pixel away from selecting the first item? Or at least a border thickness that can be applied all around the menu.
