X-Windows lock packages?

Hi,

I was wandering if anyone could suggest some good packages/programs for locking a xwindows session.

I installed Slackware 13 with all needed for X but no desktop manager. Afterwards I installed enlightenment 16. Found this site with some good info, but the programs there seem a bit old and I would like something more up to date:

Thanks in advance.

I don't mess with the stuff myself, but Slack comes with xlockmore.

BTW, welcome to LQ!

and besides xlockmore, there's the standard "xscreensaver" which can lock the screen with the following command:

Code:
shell$ xscreensaver-command -lock
Either of these two tools (xscreensaver or xlockmore) should provide acceptable locking.

Good deal. As far as switching, "patience is a virtue", read your documentation, search the web - especially this site, and then ask away.
