X Server Questions w/ xinit/xnest

I'm fairly new to Linux, so please be patient I've been scouring the web for a few days now trying to figure this out and finally decided to post here.

Here's my situation. I have a program that I'm running in full-screen mode by going to an alternate... "workspace" (I'm not sure what it would be called. I press Ctrl+Alt+F6). I then run the following command:
Code:
xinit programPath -- :1
I'm using server :1 because I already have my normal desktop running on :0 (At Ctrl+Alt+F7).

The issue is this: I have three monitors and, by default, my x-server spans all of these (which is what I want on my main desktop). But for this other program, I want to be able to run three different x servers, one for each monitor.

So all of the solutions I've found on the web involve modifying my xorg.conf file, which is a problem because I don't want to change my primary "workspace's" configuration. I'm not sure:
a.) What changes I need to make in my xorg.conf file or xinitrc files.
b.) How to call these preferences in from a secondary file when initializing the x windows (instead of using the defaults).
c.) How to create multiple x-windows within one "workspace." xnest?

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I beleive this will get you going. It is more than you are doing by adding second keyboard and mouse but should help. Let use know how it goes and post the current changed files for helping others with similiar wants.

Interesting. That is a useful resource and is similar to what I'm going for. It provides a little guidance in configuring the gdm files. I'm still having some issues, however.

For instance, I'm not sure how to create a separate server for each screen simultaneously. I'm using and N-Vidia SLI setup with dual-head cards (2 monitors on one card and 1 on another), so I can't use the isolateDevice option (though it crashes the program anyways). I think it will have something to do with the xinit command?

The problem is that I want to use my setup now and this other setup concurrently. So it's a little more difficult to modify the conf files and such. (At least that's been my experience thus far).

This multi-seating concept helps me to limit a display to only one screen, but I'm not sure how to get more than one going...
