I'm fairly new to Linux, so please be patient
I've been scouring the web for a few days now trying to figure this out and finally decided to post here.
Here's my situation. I have a program that I'm running in full-screen mode by going to an alternate... "workspace" (I'm not sure what it would be called. I press Ctrl+Alt+F6). I then run the following command:
Code:
xinit programPath -- :1
I'm using server :1 because I already have my normal desktop running on :0 (At Ctrl+Alt+F7).
The issue is this: I have three monitors and, by default, my x-server spans all of these (which is what I want on my main desktop). But for this other program, I want to be able to run three different x servers, one for each monitor.
So all of the solutions I've found on the web involve modifying my xorg.conf file, which is a problem because I don't want to change my primary "workspace's" configuration. I'm not sure:
a.) What changes I need to make in my xorg.conf file or xinitrc files.
b.) How to call these preferences in from a secondary file when initializing the x windows (instead of using the defaults).
c.) How to create multiple x-windows within one "workspace." xnest?
Thanks in advance.
