I have a question: from where the X server (X11) does know what GUI to load for example when I start my linux box it's automaticly load's KDE (after login in ofcourse ) from what file does X11 read this stuff ?
what will hepend if I'll install multiple GUI's for example KDE and Gnome how I will manually change between them ?

PS: Thank's for your time

If you run a graphical login manager you can switch between different environments there.

For me the default is in ~/.xinitrc However you might want to check the systemwide file that is in /etc/X11. The systemwide xinitrc script calls the Xsession script so I think you can add something in that too to change the default one.
