Question X resolution


I have alot of problems configuring X windows. Is there a good way to change the resolution without changing the XF86config file???

One more thing, Is it me or is X windows very complicated and confusing.

it is complicated, yes. but you don't need to touch 99% of it. please search this site for basic guides on changeing the resolution for your distrobution.

If you have redhat try the command: "Xconfigurator", it´s veri simple this utility, good look

aigartua -- no I did not try Xconfigurator, but I did try 'XFree86 -configure'

I have no luck with X windows
