X-CDRoast & kernel 2.6.*

hey everyone, i was configureing my ATAPI CDRW in XCDRoast tonite, and i recently updated my kernel to 2.6.0-test10, and needless to say its working great.....but back to my problem. I knwo that the 2.6 uses the ide-cd modules to burn CD's, its says in the dmesg that ide-scsi is depreciated. But when i configure XCDRoast to use my CDRW as an ATAPI device, its says that i will encounter alot of problems, and it will be very slow. Is there any rhyme to this reason? is this just an error message that hasnt been updated yet to conenside with the 2.6?? what does everyone reccomed that i use, the old ide-scsi or the new ide-cd?? thanks for any help...

Sounds like it's an old message, but why don't you try it and see? Burn a CD with scsi emulation in the kernel, then burn one with atapi. See if one takes longer than the other. Then make sure you can read both fine, do a diff with the original files to make sure there's no errors. Also, I thoroughly recommend k3b as a burner because it's lovely
