X CD Roast Issues

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me with C CD Roast?? I'm confused about how it's used.

I tried burning some files onto a CD and I'm very confused as to how to first, leave the cd open, and 2 how to view the files in which I copy over to verify that they were, in fact, copied.

Personally, I think it's a complicated program to understand, but perhaps that's only because I haven't used it much.

If someone could give me a few pointers, I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

under the write tracks tab is a box label "write as multi-session", select that box to write many times to the same disc. you can verify tracks under the "verify tracks tab" or just have a look with konqueror/nautilus.

Thanks, but do I need to use a CDRW disk for that or can I use a CDR?

either

In addition,

I'm rather confused about how to copy files over to a CD from the harddrives?? There is no real help with the software, so this is why I'm asking. Thanks.

under "master tracks", select files/directories in the right window and click add, that will move them to the left window. when done select "create session/image from the same tab group, select "calculate size" than either 'master to image file' , in case you want to burn additional copys later, or 'master and write on the fly' for a one-off. select write as multi-session if your putting more stuff on it later.

Well, I'm trying to burn something right now. I started it before you replied, so I'll let you know what the results are.

Hi Rshaw,

Well, I burned some data fine. Thanks for the assistance. Have a good evening

Stick at it - X CDRoast is an excellent program, and in my opinion one of the best for any OS - once you learn all its idiosyncracities it's simple and elegant to use.
