Something which looks a bit more user friendly for those of use
who have DreamWeaver experience.... http://62.166.43.41/OpenSource/Nvu/nvu-install-en.html |

Chinaman's suggestion, NVU, the extended Mozilla, is useful.
You may not even need more than the basic Mozilla homepage editor, if it is basic HTML. Also, OpenOffice.org has a homepage/HTML editor. You should be able to find them with the package manager. What is the distribution? |
I just installed Nvu, it was compiled with gcc 2.95, but runs just fine with my gcc 3.3. It seems to be a very good web building program, not as close to dreamweaver or frontpage as I was hoping, but close enough to be pretty easy to figure out.

check out the Wiki section here at LQ to find other options...
there are plenty listed there. |

It might not yet be like frontpage or dreamweaver, but it is the goal to reach it, or even if possible be better. It is also mulit platform, Linux, Windows and MacOS X are supported. |
You may wanna check out Quanta too. It's my personal fave and i use it pretty much every day. http://quanta.sourceforge.net/

does quanta do wysiwyg yet ? It was in project then got posponed....
|
I think it kinda sorta does. I can't really say for sure because I use it for PHP coding. FYI, in Quanta-speak the WYSIWYG editor is called VPL (although I can't remember what that stands for).
