Wxpython & Gtk

Hello I am trying to install WXPYTHON I have searched the site and google but i have yet to find a solution to my question. Basically I am trying to install WXPYTHON I have python installed in "/usr/bin" and I have gtk librarie installed in the default directory of Suse which is in /opt/kde... any I try to install WXPYTHON and it says that it is unable to find the librarries needed. What I need to know is how in the command line to I tell wxpython to look in a specific directory for the libraries. Thanks again.
