Angry WU-Ftp & Telnet

I have just installed Red Hat Linux v7.2 and am having problems with Telnet & WU-Ftp.

It connects, eventually, but takes a very long time. Once connected everything is ok.

Connect from where? Inside your LAN? Have you check /var/log/messages
for possible errors? Compare connect times with ssh? Is the connect times
the same with ip address and hostname connects?

Pleae answer ALL questions.
