Wrong memory info in gnome-system-monitor after 2.6.6 kernel upgrade

I just upgraded my RedHat 9 system to kernel 2.6.6, everything went relatively smoothly and the system is running great. However, when I bring up the Gnome System Monitor (gnome-system-monitor) app, it's displaying wrong information for memory. It shows a total of 16K memory and 25K swap (yes, KB not MB), and 0 bytes used for each.

/proc/meminfo shows correct information, as does using free, vmstat, etc. So what is special about the new kernel where system monitor is concerned? When I boot off the old 2.4.20 kernel everything is OK.

I can live without system monitor, but I'm curious as to why this is happening..

Hi,

I noticed something also and i have mandrake 10 kernel: 2.6.3-7mdksmp #1 SMP
I have one gig of mem installed on my dual athlon system and meminfo (also gnome system monitor) shows that I have only 883Mb??
My meminfo shows: MemTotal: 903804 kB
(divided by 1024 = 883Mb)
