writing to NTFS

Is it already possible to write to NTFS with linux. I'm using now knoppix 3.6 with kernel 2.6 and mandrake 10.1 community.

I heard that writing is possible but that it is very dangerous because it was held secret how to write to NTFS or something.

Thx
Wannes

it is possiobly with the ntfs module, but it's just so not recommended it's unreal. something's in linux are technically marked as "Experimental" despite being aroudn for years, working rock solidyl, e.g. the framebuffer. ntfs write access is not one of these cases. if there is any way you could possibly concieve to avoid doing this.. try that option instead.

try looking up captive ntfs, i think it uses the ntfs.sys from windows, so it works exactly as windows would through wine.
