Writing LDIF

Hi everyone,

The question looks stupid but I still cannot get up with any clues.

Is there any tutorial about how to write a LDIF for openldap?
Openldap.org does not give any good example on writing, and I am still struggling. (for 2 weeks)

Any suggestion would be appreicated!
Thanks.

Well I thought the OpenLDAP docs on their web site provided enough information to get a good understanding of the LDIF file format, and it has several example code snippets to illustrate that. It was enough to get me started long ago.
But maybe your requirements differ? You did not tell what kind of content you want in that LDIF file, and what you want to do with it.

Dear Eric,

I read some code snippets from openldap.org and some little insight on that. My requirement is simply to create users with email, username and password attributes.

I have tried to write some but to no avail, (most of the time is invalid synatx, even I dump, modify, triple-check the source from other ldap sample LDIF). I have found phpldapadmin to save my time in creating the LDIF, still dunno what happens to LDAP server. cannot add new stuff to it with rootdn permission. (See other recent thread I post for details)

Therefore, it is most likely that I need to type it by myself and so I would raise any attention to give me some tutorial on writing LDIF.

Thanks.
