Writer Page Numbering Issue

I checked out the postings on page numbering in writer but doing the following just doesn't work.

I'm writing a document and various portions of it only fill half a page and I would like to have all the pages numbered one after another at the bottom right.

When I try to do use the insert fields...the page number is placed next to the last character keyed.

Is there anyway to get writer to put page numbering at the bottom right of a page that is only half full.

I don't what to got back to MS/Word to do this but MS/Word works without a hassel to do this.

Thanks

Hullo Howardr,
If you haven't already tried this, it should help. It works here.
When you start writer, cursor in first page, select insert>footer, choose default.
Then with cursor in the footer, select insert>fields>page count, then choose align right.
Hopefully, if I understand your question correctly, that should solve the problem.

Cheers,
Terry
