Working to try to install ATI tv-capture PCI

Ok guys I found this site gatos.sourceforge.net that looks to be able to run the capture card AND remote, however, I can't seem to understand the installation instructions. I tried downloading AVView and FFMpeg and when inside the AVView dir called this

Code:
[root@localhost avview-0.80.6]# ./configure --with-ffmpeg=/ffmpeg-0.4.8
once it finished running it gave me this error

Code:
checking libzvbi.h usability... no
checking libzvbi.h presence... no
checking for libzvbi.h... no
Avview requires libzvbi 0.2.3 or later
A.) any ideas how to fix this
or
B.) am I even doing it right?

Sorry I hope this is in the right section if not I beg for forgivness

This answer seems stupid but it really isn't.

You need to find , download and install the libzvbi 0.2.3 or later package. May or may not be bundled with another package. (This is one of the fun things about linux; finding dependancies =)

On a side note - I want to do the same thing as you, but I have no GUI so I can' use GATOS =(

Edit: Forgot to tell you that your on the right track =)

I am trying to do the same thing. I also get the same error message. I tried installing zvbi-0.2.15-1.2 but it still says I don't have the file needed. I know there hasn't been a post on this in a month, but I was hoping that maybe the original poster found the solution. If you did, please post it for others to see .
