working amsn through squid proxy server
 

hello friends,

I have a problem working with amsn mesenger. My proxy server is at "192.168.0.1" with port: "3128"
whenever I open amsn messenger (from other client computers), amsn gives error like "server could
not be contacted". can you guys help me out?

if it is non-transparent proxy it has got nothing to do with amsn .and if non-tranparent then you have forward ports of msn messenger on your firewall
like 1863 and others for web and voice

thanks pal. But in fact, i realised that I had fooled myself. Simply, putting
proxy address and proxy port on connection tab of amsn solved
the problem. now its working, albeit connection goes off from time
to time.
