Word count in paragraph - Open Office,

Hey,

Does anyone know if there is a way to do a word count in Open Office 1.0.[2|3] on a paragraph, rather than on the whole document. Ideally it may just be a selected part of the text.

Thanks in advance...

Heh, sorry, couldn't resist :)

I don't think there is any way to do that... though I could be mistaken.

yeah I am not too hopeful but it is the only negative in an otherwise fairly seamless transition from M$_Office to Open Office for my wife, maybe I will suggest it to the developers for an upcoming release.

cuckoopint 04-19-2003 07:18 PM

you can't select and do a word count?

wierd, even Abiword has that. (I would know, I set it up for my sister.)

Sutekh 04-19-2003 07:34 PM

There is no word count per se just a statistics page that gives an overall word count

Sutekh 04-19-2003 07:35 PM

oh on a side nite does abi word have compatibility with M$_Office files? maybe that is an alternative if it does.

cuckoopint 04-19-2003 08:15 PM

yes, it does.

I'm not sure how advanced this compatibility needs to be (or is), but you can see if it fits your needs.
