wmv, wma, rel, rea ...video pluggins...help !

Hi

I can read mpg, vob, even divX format, either with kaboodle, totem, or xine.

Unfortunatly, whatever i want to play in the internet, it is always in an other format. I spent hours in internet trying to guess what i was missing, and i finally understood that i was missing something called "pluggin"

I have no idea what it is, but i've found none of them. Only dead links, or complete software i don't want to use. I gave up in the middle of the night...

What should I do now ? Can't I just go to somewhere.com/download , pick a file, drop it on my system, and enjoy vidéos ?

thanks for any - easy -idea !

i'd suggest getting mplayer running nicely then using mplayerplug-in to play embedded video using mplayer.
