wmv to swf converter


does something like this exist in linux?? i really need to convert some wmv files for my video module on my website.

thanks in advanced.. i tried ffmpeg btw didn't work

i wouldn't imagine for a second that this is possible without proprietary software. often you can convert from private formats to public ones, and a little reverse engineering can sometimes help the other way, but these two formats are so complex (well swf at least) and closed i wouldn't think it'd evenvaguely be a goer.

grrr .. thing is i saw ffmpeg used to convert mov to swf though. guy said it worked like a charm.. so i dont know if its got anything to do with the propretary status of the file type
