.wmv files: How to
G'day all,
I can't see how to run windows .wmv files. My Fedora 4 defaults to Totem but totem can't run the files. It refers to getting a plugin. Which one and where from? Or is there another program that will run the programs (e.g. Real Player)?
John

You need to install a package called w32codec. Search for it at rpm.pbone.net.

Thanks Redazz,
Did that but it still won't go. Here is the message from Totem:
"There were no decoders found to handle the stream in file "file:///tmp/??????.wmv", you might need to install the corresponding plugins"
I have no idea about what these might be.
Thanks
John

Uninstall the version of totem you are using and install totem-xine. The best thing to do is to setup the livna rpm repo and install the packages using yum.
