wireless network handling

I need some software to handle my wireless networks. Everytime I boot my computer on a new wireless network, my computer takes a long time to get to the login screen because it is trying to use DHCP on a network that isnt there anymore. What can I use to fix my problem?

This might not be what you're asking for, but what I did is turn off DHCP and make a simple script file that statically configures a connection. For example, I type

wlan home

To connect to my home wifi, or

wlan work

To connect at work, etc.
