pcmcia, usb, what are you after?
A more accurate description of the
hardware would help us help you...

Btw, there's no such thing as a
"wireless internet driver", try to also
provide some accuracy in your posts
subject line...

Cheers,
Tink

sorry. this is my first time using this board.

i have a microsoft wireless usb internet adapter to connect to our network. i am currently switching over to linux and i pretty much need to know how to use the adapter. The networking guide in linux has some models of adapters built in but not the microsoft one. if anyone could help that would be great.

It depends on what version and model the device is, we need more model info, oddly enough the Microsoft brand kit is almost all supported.

So far there are no wireless USB drivers in the kernel, so this is going to mean compiling a... uhm, "beta" project, most are solid, some are still a little wobbly.

I'm in the same boat.

I'm new to the linux world also. Mine is a Microsoft USB wireless network adapter model MN-510, 802.11b/Wi-Fi. Detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated, but any info will help. I am running RH 9.

Thank you!

Its a prism2 device. As far as I know the only project's drivers that cover that are the www.linux-wlan.net prism2 drivers. They don't work through normal "iwconfig" commands either, they have a program from configuring the card that is special to their drivers. The documentation with them is rather solid, post back if you get stuck.
