wireless intel 2100 card with RH9 won't work..

hi,

i've installed rh9 on my notebook.. i've installed the ndiswrapper with the original wireless driver for my card.

i've ran :
iwconfig
wlan0 card is present

ifconfig wlan0 up

ifconfig

got the wireless card and am connected to my network, but without an ipadress.

also, when i try to configure the network devices, the wlan0 card isn't found, only eth0.

i know my card is connected since i can view the macadress of the router with ifconfig...

but how can i configure it further with dhcp enabled?? i'm always running on wireless with this notebook, so it would be nice to let it use dhcp on startup, so i can connect right away when booted...

i also tried configuring the wlan0 card at first with WEP, and later without encryption ( also shutoff encryption on my router ) but both give the same output on ifconfig, i can see the mac of the router, but not given an ip...

so i think that the card is installed correctly, but i have to use dhcp for it, and i don't know how!

anyone know how to solve this?

thanks in advance

There is a pretty decent How-To on setting up ndiswrapper in RH. It uses a different card as an example, but the various files to configure probably don't change. Have a read and make sure you've got all the files set up properly.

well, this particular is for pcmcia, but the thing i did wrong, was open the redhat network config and keep forwarding without having to chose the wlan0 device ( because it isn't possible)

but i think this would help a lot! thanks for the reply!

grtz
