WINSCP to acces Ubuntu

Hi,
i'm very new in this world of Unix. I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a virtual machine(on a Vmware workstation). I want to copy/move/see files from my Windows on the Ubuntu. I read that WINSCP is a good tool for doing this.
But each time that i try to login using the ip addres from Ubuntu from the winscp from windows , the connection closes saying that:Host is not comunicating for more than 15 seconds.Still waiting -> abort
on my virtual Ubuntu i saw that the port used for communicating is 5900(had provided this one insstead of port 22 into winscp). I have installed in Ubuntu openssh-server-i've thought that this might solve my problem. it dind't
im still wondering were i'm making mistakes, what should i do or config in order to solve this.
Regards

back again,
i've solved my problem. Had to use the "root" username not the administrator username in the WINSCP.
The ports are working perfectly.
Things are going ok for now, i'm waiting for next challenges from UNIX.

godra, please don't resurrect dead threads.

BTW, I'm moving your posts to their own thread in the Software forum.
