"WinKey" with System/Start Menu (again)
OK, I know this question has been asked hundreds of times before, BUT I just HAVE to get the
proper answer...
I'm using Suse 9.2 (which comes bundled with KDE 3.3.0). When I'm in KDE, the "Winkeys" can
be used to popup the start menu (just like in windows). I love the way this works, but I don't understand WHY it works. I can't find anything in the config files or in KDE Control Centre.
I've seen the solution to map the "winkeys" to F13 (as an example), but this is different. Firstly, because when I use that method the menu pops up in a (seemingly) random screen position, whereas mine pops up above (or next to) the KMenu button. And, secondly, the windows key isn't showing as an Fxx key in Control Centre.
The closest I've gotten is by using DCOP, but I still can't find how this behaviour is enabled by default!!
More info:
The "winkeys" only popup the start menu when "Num Lock" is OFF.
This works even when the "KHotKeys" daemon is disabled.
"Keyboard Layouts" is disabled.
"xkb options" is disabled.
PLEASE HELP ME FIND HOW THEY DID THIS...
