WineX3 + Valve Steam

Im running ubuntu linux with winex3. I downloaded steam from Steampowered.com and installed it with wineX. it installed with no problem and updated with no problem. but when it tried to load up steam itself it gives me an error saying :

Steam.exe (main exception): Win32 StructuredException at 6D6F436E: Attempt to read from virtual address 1836008302 without appropriate access rights.

whats this mean? was there something wrong with the setup file or access rights?

I believe you will need to update to at least Cedega 4.0 for Steam to work. Check out http://www.transgaming.com for details. Their page states that Steam is now supported.

I have a feeling that version of winex was free...as it is was release to the public....

but yes, Cedega is great and Cross Over too...I have them both and run my critical windows apps fine...
