i have got winex, and to test it i installed theme hospital. this worked fine. however, when i try to start it, my lcd monitor gives the message it shows when the resolution is out of it's range. is there any way to make sure it starts on 1024x768, or another resolution that i know it supports?
got it in case anyone else has this problem - because i didnt know the horizontal sync abd vertical sync for my monitor, they were wrong in my XF86Config. I managed to find them out, changed them, and now its fine
