WineX problem

Hi!

I am using Slackware 9.0.
And have downloaded WineX.
When i try to start autostart.exe from my half-life CD, its tells me this:

Quote:
bash-2.05b# winex3 autorun.exe
X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 15 (X_QueryTree)
Resource id in failed request: 0x1e00004
Serial number of failed request: 201
Current serial number in output stream: 201
bash-2.05b#
It's the same with Valve Hammer Editor beta 3.5
I found a post with the search, that was the exactly the same question, but i founded it out by him self! And he didint tell what to do.
I have googeld around with google.com/linux, and has added this

Quote:
Option "IgnoreEDID" "1"
The the XF86Config file..

edit: and by the way, i have the linux kernel 2.4.21

that option you say you added is for disabling the probing of EDID (extended display identification data) from your monitor, as i don't see why you would be doing this as your not having a monitor problem...and you must pass a boolean to that option, and i am not sure if 1 and 0 values are accepted but they very well maybe...anyways this could be dangerous if you don't know what your doing and you should leave this at the defaults to use EDIDs...anyways...:..
try running:
setup.exe as opposed to the autorun.

I have try to run setup.exe...
the "blink" rectangle just stands there and blinking, and blinking, and blinking....
Ok, i'll remove the EDID line. and try.

And i downloaded a GeForce driver and installed it, when it was done, i configured the XF86Config, and started x, yeah! the pic of the nvidia logo shows up! but(!), its 300x200, i removed that states from the XF96Config, then i gave me an error, "No availeble modes for screen0".

EDIT: To delet the EDID helped me with the res! thanks! But i still have my WineX prob left

lol ignoreedid could very well be causing that 300x200 res. but it may not be, so you should double check your res modes in the x config file and see if you have the proper resolutions listed in there..
