winex fails at startup - oss/alsa problem

Yesterday I compiled and installed the 2.6.0 kernel and all is well except ALSA and winex. I switched over to ALSA from OSS. I can listen to music, etc but when i try to start everquest in winex it gives me the following error:
Quote:
err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit OpenDevice failed 1
err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit OpenDevice failed 1
wine: can't exec './EverQuest.exe': error=21
the OSS error makes me think winex only supports OSS. Is there a way around this? Do i have to enable ALSA support somewhere in winex? Everquest and winex worked fine in 2.4.23 and OSS.
Thanks,
brain_bucket
